Qualification overview

The qualification and learning outcomes are based on the recommendations of:

• Resuscitation Council (UK)
• Assessment Principles for Regulated First Aid Qualifications

This QA qualification is:

• For people who deal with first aid at work enabling them to refresh skills and knowledge as workplace first aiders under the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
• Based on the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) training standard for delivery of First Aid at Work (FAW) courses for the purposes of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981

Learners should be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective first aid in emergency situations with an understanding of the role of first aider.

Objective

The objective of the qualification is to benefit Learners by enabling them to refresh the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of first aid situations. It is designed to help maintain skills and keep up to date with any changes to first aid procedures.

Purpose

The purpose of this qualification is to refresh the first aid skills and knowledge of qualified first aiders and emergency first aiders in the workplace.

Intended audience

This qualification is predominantly for qualified first aiders who have a specific interest or a responsibility at work, or in voluntary and community activities, to be able to provide first aid to people they are caring for when dealing with an emergency.

Course Duration/Qualification

The course is delivered over 3 hours.

The course requires four practical assessments and a range of informal tutor led assessments to achieve the required standard. At the end of the course upon the tutors satisfaction, students will be signed off to be competent and receive a CPD certificate.

Course Cost

The cost of the course is £35.00 plus vat and includes tea, coffee, juice, water and biscuits throughout the course (if delivered at our training centre in Hull. We can come out to your site and deliver the training subject to conditions being right for the learners and suitable provisions available but this can be discussed at booking.
